MAKS 2021's New Stuff (except Checkmate)

As spotlight is given for Sukhoi's Checkmate, other jet models are also revealed

Those can be "Paper-ware" in the future however, at least, we can figure out how Russians think about the future military aircraft.

Interesting thing is MiG-1.44 based Ship-borne aircraft

1) light-weight fighter - almost similar to trainer jet class like FA-50, Yak-130, Mako...but with IWB, EOTS?

More smaller than revealed 'Checkmate' (probably...), it reminds me a old German mock-up Mako. But compared to similar class aircraft, it has own internal weapon bays. Also splited leading edge flap is interesting point too.

RuAF will probably consists of their forces combination of Su-57 and Checkmate while this aircraft will target the export market. EOTS, IWB, and low RCS feature with small class hardware can appeal other nations.

However, it is a doubt that Russia can push two aircraft project smoothly.

2) MiG-1.44's Naval version

There is no name-tag on this aircraft indicating MiG-1.45, but anybody can see this is coming from design of MiG-1.44. Basic configuration is kept while IWB, caret-inlet, low-RCS nose shape are applied.

They descripted this aircraft as Naval one but Next-Gen. Aircraft Carrier project of Russia is in doubt.

3) UCAV - Similar to X-47B and Competitor of S70?

X-47B's planform with un-refined tail. Actually it is refined but it has very unusual internally canted tail and conventional nozzle. Compared to upper surface, lower surface of the aircraft is more unusual as we see center-line pod. Purpose of pod is unclear, but it can be gun pod.

Additional two small IWB are aligned; it is little bit unclear why pod is not made as attachment profile for big IWB.

  1. It's a refueling drone, Russia's own MQ-25.
